New Stamps Issued in DPRK Pyongyang, February 8 (KCNA) -- The Korea Stamp Corporation has issued a separate stamp and a sheetlet reflecting plants growing in Mt. Paektu area on the occasion of the auspicious February holiday, the birthday of leader Kim Jong Il. Thousands of species of plants grow in the area of Mt. Paektu, the sacred mountain of revolution. Among them are many rare plants indigenous to alpine areas. Printed on the stamps are words "Celebration of the great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il's Birthday", "Juche 31(1942)-Juche 95(2006)" and "February 16". The separate stamp shows a scenic view of the Mt. Paektu area where various flowers are in full bloom with the peak on which the words "Jong Il Peak" are carved out as its background. The sheetlet reflects four species of alpine plants including Polemonium racemosum, morning-star lily and dandelion growing in the Jong Il Peak area. The face value of the separate stamp is 3 won and those of the stamps in the sheetlet are 12, 45, 100 and 140 won respectively. As reported by LINN's "New Issues-Asia", April 24, 2006.
