Postage Stamps Issued

Pyongyang, August 18 (KCNA) -- New stamps (a souvenir sheet, a sheetlet and an individual stamp) have been issued by the State Stamp Bureau of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea with the approach of the 50th anniversary of Kim Jong Il's start of Songun revolutionary leadership.

Seen in the upper part of the stamps are such inscriptions as "In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Kim Jong Il's start of the Songun revolutionary leadership" and "Juche 49 (1960)-Juche 99 (2010)".

The souvenir sheet contains a Korean painting, "Snowstorm of Mt. Paektu", portraying General Secretary Kim Jong Il opening up a new era of the revolutionary cause of Juche with Songun politics.

Printed in the sheetlet are some art works showing his Songun-based revolutionary activities against the background of the Supreme Commander flag and the words and notation of the song "We Will Defend the Headquarters of Revolution with Our Lives".

An individual stamp reflects the strong will of the Korean people to build a thriving nation on this land without fail under the leadership of Kim Jong Il.

As reported by Herrick's website Aug. 4, 2010.
