New Postage Stamp Issued

Pyongyang, November 30 (KCNA) -- The State Stamp Bureau of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea has issued four individual stamps containing pictures dating back to the Ri Dynasty.

The pictures are "Waves of Sea off Ongchon" and "Pine Tree and Hawk" drawn by Jong Son and Sin Yun Bok, celebrated artists in the 18th century, "After Gathering Medicinal Herbs" by Kim Hong Do representing the 18th and 19th centuries and "Reeds and Wild Geese" by Jo Sok Jin in the mid-19th century and early the 20th century.

The Korean paintings are characterized by composition broad enough to depict nature in a grandiose, beautiful and wonderful way and by formative brushwork.

The realistic paintings are well known in not only Korea but other countries.
